March & April Workshops

Wow- the blog is finally getting updated. I apologize for not being very diligent in keeping you all up to date on the exciting and neat things coming up. Keep in mind that all classes are on the first Monday evening of each month at 6:30pm. The next class is Monday  May 3rd. Continue to check for updates!

First off, thank you to all the ladies who came to the Easter class and the April class. We all had a great time and made some really neat things. Here is a shot of April's work from the Easter class. She did a great job!

My favorite of the four projects that night is the Bashful Blue card using the Chocolate Bunny stamp. He is so cute! We used Bashful Blue card stock with the Chocolate Bunny stamped on Close to Cocoa card stock with Chocolate Chip ink. We also used the Baroque Motifs as the background stamp using my favorite Versa Mark ink. It is always a huge hit at my classes because of its versatility. We trimmed off the card with a bit of ribbon, and the cute flower shaped Sherbet buttons.

The next project was the fun mini Milk Cartons. Thanks to Malia for pre-cutting them on her Big-Shot die cutter using the Mini Milk Carton Bigz Die. We used the Orchid Opulence card stock accented with the Shades of Spring designer series paper (another favorite of mine), and tied it off with the So Saffron grosgrain ribbon and a mini clip. They worked out great for holding the jelly  beans that Becca brought.

The second card was made using the Eggcoutrements stamp set from the Spring Occasions Mini catalog. We used Bashful Blue, So Saffron, Certainly Celery grosgrain ribbon, and Pink Pirouette ink which was a retired color (that's right...WAS...more on that in the next post though).

The last project of the evening were the ever so chic Easter eggs using the Eggcellent Eggs kit. They were so fun to make, and everyone loved the rhinestone bling to polish off the eggs with.

The April technique class was fun as well. We focused on using hostess sets. Thanks again to April for the pictures!

The card on the left was made using the Of The Earth level one hostess set and the following card stock colors: Really Rust, So Saffron, Old Olive, Not Quite Navy, and Creamy Caramel. The Versa Mark ink was used again here for the bird and the phrase, and we used the bleaching technique for this card as well to give it an earthy, rustic look.

The second card was made using the Asian Artistry level two hostess set. We used Soft Suede, Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Dusty Durango, and finished it off with a touch of Basic Black. We used the Aqua Painter pen to give the card a water color effect.

Finally, we did the Stamping on a Candle technique. I think this was the biggest hit of the night. All the ladies were free to choose from any of the stamp sets I had, so everyone's candle was unique. They all turned out great!
